Reelfurniture is the project of David Meddings who with 25 years experience as designer and furniture maker has been involved with environmental organisations in the past and sees the use of recycled timber as a design challenge and an active step towards change. This gallery is an opportunity to purchase direct from the furniture makers and we believe offers you a personal and efficient service. We appreciate any feedback that you have to offer.

Ideas for Timber Recycling
Any comments or ideas are welcome. We have plans for larger tables with circular bench seat, beds, wardrobes, loveseats, kissing seats and gazebos.

Assembly of our Real Furniture
The design of our real wooden furniture was inspired by the construction of industrial cable reels which enabled our tables and chairs to be delivered flatpacked (not to be confused with MFI) and facilitates transport, access (larger pieces in your home you could never fit through the door before) and storage. For the larger pieces, two people are recommended to carry. Two spanners at most are needed (screwdriver and spanner for Tree seat) and two pairs of hands to assemble in minutes. Full instructions are included for assembly and care.

Materials
We use discarded cable reels and other reclaimed timber for our furniture, which is fully seasoned and often very mature and of high quality from old growth forests. Apart from the recycled timber content the our pieces are finished with the latest environmentally friendly lacquers for indoor and outdoor use. As garden furniture, some discoloration may occur but owing to the nature of the pieces we think this adds to their character. The steel fittings are zinc plated for lasting protection, the hemp coloured rigging rope is rot proof and UV inhibited.

The easiest and most economic method for payment is by cheque or draft payable to Reelfurniture.

To maintain lower costs and therefore prices we have decided as yet not to enter into the online Internet Merchant arena. If you believe we are losing your order because of this, please let us know.

Delivery
Normally within 28 days. We normally have most items in stock so delivery could be less. We will notify you on receipt of order. The purchase price includes delivery UK mainland. For the larger items of furniture, two people are recommended to carry.
